live with intention. walk to the edge. listen hard. laugh.
practice wellness.
play with abandon. continue to learn. appreciate your friends. choose with no regret. do what you love. live as if this is all there is.

About Wellness Room

WHO WE ARE
The Stanford Wellness Room will be dedicated to helping students learn more about and to practice living healthier, less-stressed, and more balanced lives. The idea for the room evolved from personal experiences – from knowing students who struggle to overcome obstacles that impact their health and happiness. The results of the Mental Health and Well-Being Task Force confirmed the breadth and depth of well-being issues that exist at Stanford.

MISSION
Well-being is a community issue that takes a community to address; achieving personal wellness is different for each person. The Wellness Room is a community around wellness on the Stanford Campus following a new movement in the science of happiness and the importance of relaxation. It is a starting point to better, healthier, and more balanced lives for Stanford students. To that end, we identified three primary goals that emphasize the importance of collaborating among groups and providing services that complement each other:

  1. Create opportunities for students to obtain information about campus support resources; to learn more about mental, physical, and spiritual health; and to help them develop skills to achieve and sustain wellness.
  2. Mobilize student leaders and other interested students to identify well being as a priority; to inform and educate their respective constituencies about well being; and to contribute to the collective initiative to create a healthier environment.
  3. Collaborate with University offices and student organizations to complement existing well being programs and services and to develop new programs and services.
