History

The Associated Students of Stanford University Legal Counseling Office (ASSU LCO) is an integral part of the services provided by the ASSU. Started in 1973 by students who believed that Stanford students needed some place to turn for legal advice, the ASSU Legal Counseling Office has provided services to students for nearly 25 years. Attorneys form the San Jose law firm of McManis, Faulkner, & Morgan staff the office. Several members of the firm are Stanford graduates. Budget approval and office operations are reviewed quarterly by the ASSU LCO Policy Board, which included students as well as attorneys outside the law firm.
