Executive Aides

Applications are closed for 2006-2007
Executive Aides work closely with the ASSU President and ASSU Vice President on some of the most important projects the ASSU will undertake this year. These include projects related to reviving and starting new traditions, communicating with students and administration, initiating and implementing new proposals, and working in a team environment. Executive Aides are assigned to a cabinet member. The ASSU selects 6-10 students to be Executive Aides each year.

Senate Associates

Applications are closed for 2006-2007
Senate Associates assist members of the Undergraduate Senate and predominantly focus on advocacy and policy issues. Each Senate Associate has the opportunity to work directly with Undergraduate Senators on key projects and with each of the five Undergraduate Senate Committees. Additionally, Senate Associates have the opportunity to create new projects of their own to benefit the Stanford Community. Each year, the ASSU selects 10-15 incoming students who serve as Senate Associates.

Frosh Council

The ASSU Frosh Council consists of representatives from each dorm that houses freshmen. The group plans social activities for the freshmen class such as formal, a talent show, and a field day, and that sale of clothing and trinkets bearing the class numerals. The group also acts as a liaison between the ASSU, the Dean of Freshmen and Transfer Students, and the dorm. Elections for Frosh Council are usually held at each dorm's first House Meeting.

Nominations Commission

The ASSU Nominations Commission (NomCom) nominates students to University and Trustees committees through an application process. NomCom makes sure that student voices are heard in University decision-making. To view the list of 40-50 committees, please go to http://nomcom.stanford.edu.
