ASSU/Academic Computing Student Advisory Board

Do you have great ideas about how to improve the technology used in teaching, learning and research at Stanford University? Here's your chance to share that input and feedback.

As part of our ongoing efforts to design our facilities and services with our users in mind, Academic Computing and the ASSU are collaborating to establish a Student Advisory Board.

This Student Advisory Board will bring together undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of disciplines with Academic Computing staff to explore ideas for the design and implementation of new Academic Computing services and facilities as well as enhancements to existing services.

Participating as a member of this Board as a Student Consultant will include the opportunity to give design feedback on systems such as CourseWork and the Syllabus Tool as well as the occasion to provide input about computer clusters, equipment checkout, residential computing services, multimedia support and more.

Student Consultants for the Student Advisory Board will also have the opportunity to participate in conference presentations and meetings with professional staff. Student Consultants will also develop a report regarding various technology topics that will be included in the official records of the Advisory Board.

We expect that this group would meet once a month for 90 minutes.

If you are interested in being considered for a position as a Student Consultant on the ASSU Academic Computing Student Advisory Board, please reply to this email with answers to the following questions by midnight of April 1, 2007.

We will send invitations to those selected in early April. We expect to begin meeting in late April.

Thank you for your interest. ASSU/Academic Computing Student Advisory Board Team
